The First Meeting |
| Question: |
|
What can I expect from the First Meeting? |
| Answer: |
|
The purpose of this meeting is for us to get to know each other and determine whether there is a basis for working together in the future.
We will discuss your personal needs, preferences and goals as well as your current financial situation.
We will meet either in our office or your home, and anything we discuss is kept strictly confidential.
I will not personally contact you afterwards -- unless you want me to.
I know you will find our meeting to be an informative and interesting experience, much of the benefit you derive will depend on how well you come prepared for it. In order to make best use of the time we spend together:
1. Both spouses (if applicable), or all decision makers, should attend this initial meeting.
2. You should bring all relevant financial documents with you including (as applicable) the following:
Your most recent personal tax returns
Your most recent employer pension statement
Your most recent Canada Pension Plan statement
Your most recent investment statements from all financial institutions
Insurance policies (life, disability, auto, home, etc.)
A summary of your personal assets & liabilities
Any recent appraisals for real estate or business assets
Any business financial statements.
