President

Steven Donald was appointed President of Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. and its major subsidiaries in 2005.

Prior to his appointment as President, he held the roles of Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for Assante from 2003 to 2005.

Before joining Assante, Steven was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Synergy Asset Management, from the time of its inception in 1998 until it was acquired by CI Financial, Assante's parent company, in 2003.

Prior to Synergy, Steven was Vice-President of Finance at SHL Systemhouse Co., acting as the senior financial executive supporting two global business units representing sales and consulting, as well as outsourcing operations. He went to Systemhouse from Ernst & Young LLP, where he worked in the financial services group providing audit and consulting services.

Steven sits on the board of directors of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, the Investment Industry Association of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division.  He is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
