President and Chief Operating Officer
Steven Donald was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. and its major subsidiaries in May 2005.
Prior to his appointment as President and Chief Operating Officer, he was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for Assante and oversaw financial reporting and control, taxation, business analytics and planning and Assante Management Services.
Before joining Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. in November 2003, Steven was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Synergy Asset Management (Synergy), from the time of its inception in 1998. Synergy quickly became known as one of Canada's most innovative mutual fund companies and was acquired by CI Financial in October 2003.
Prior to Synergy, Steven was Vice-President of Finance at SHL Systemhouse Co., acting as the senior financial executive supporting two global business units representing sales and consulting, as well as outsourcing operations. He went to Systemhouse from Ernst & Young LLP, where he worked in the financial services group providing audit and consulting services.
Steven Donald is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
