Senior Vice-President, Risk Management
James (Jaime) Ross is Senior Vice-President, Risk Management at Assante Wealth Management and oversees the compliance and learning functions across the organization.
Prior to joining Assante in November 2003, Jaime was Vice-President, Services and Corporate Secretary at Synergy Asset Management Inc., a Toronto-based investment management firm founded in December 1997. Synergy quickly became known as one of Canada's most innovative mutual fund companies and was acquired by CI Financial in October 2003. At Synergy, Jaime was responsible for legal and compliance, various operational functions, as well as human resources.
Before joining Synergy in October 1997, Jaime was a legal counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission. During his seven-year term, he worked in Capital Markets, the Office of the General Counsel and Market Operations - Investment Funds.
Jaime Ross was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1990, after receiving his LL.B. from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario (Huron College).
