With the motto that "giving back to society enriches us all", Janine has been active in the community for many years. Here are a few of the activities & groups with which she is involved.
This year we raised $32,000. For a total of over $307,000.
The Joy of Aging is a unique annual event for life-loving women over 40 who cherish their health and intend to keep it. We know you care as much about your mind as you do about your body. By popular demand, our focus this year is- Your Grey Matter Matters. You’ll laugh, you’ll be inspired and you’ll enjoy a very special morning featuring a delicious healthy breakfast, live music, sponsor booths with interesting services and products, an outstanding silent auction and fabulous gift bags.

Launched in 2009, organized by the Richmond Hill branch of Assante Capital Management Ltd. and run entirely by passionate volunteers, Joy of Aging has to date raised over $240,000 for the Mackenzie Health Foundation and our fast-growing audience reached over 250 last year. Join us, bring your friends and treat yourself to a revitalizing morning created with you in mind.
Proceeds from the 9th Annual Joy of Aging event will help fund the new DASA Program (domestic abuse and sexual assault care centre) at Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital
Portraits of Giving. Thursday April 20th
Portraits of Giving, a unique and motivating exhibit celebrating York Region leaders who give back to their community will kick off their York Region wide tour at HJ Pfaff Audi in Newmarket at 6pm on Thursday April 20th. RHBOT is the "voice of business" in the Richmond Hill business community and provides a leadership role in promoting the business interests of its members. Janine has served on the RHCOC's Board of Directors and has been on the Government Affairs Committee for some time. Helping the business community thrive in Richmond Hill allows for a better community with which to live and work. Janine had a more than welcoming and exciting tenure as the Chair(2013-2014). Being an active member of the committee for the Bachelor of Commerce degree & other diploma programs, Janine helps & provides guidance to ensure that the programs are current and relevant to industry and business.
The Aphasia Institute is a community-based centre of excellence, pioneering programs and practices that help the 100,000 Canadians with aphasia learn how to communicate in new ways so they can re-join life’s conversations. Janine is involved in monitoring and providing expert advice and counsel on the investment strategy and management of the investment portfolio of the Aphasia Institute’s endowment fund. Janine values the institute's services and encourages individuals to further look into the facility.
