2018 Nova Scotia provincial budget commentary
Finance Minister Karen Casey tabled the 2018 Nova Scotia provincial budget on March 20, 2018.
The budget projects a surplus of $29.4 million for 2018-2019. With respect to the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the budget forecasts a final net surplus of $23.2 million for 2017-2018, updating the initial estimate of a $21.3 million surplus.
There were changes made to certain personal tax amounts, as well as to certain personal and business tax credits.
There were no changes to personal or corporate income tax rates.
