Season's Greetings

Today, I am here to wish you a special holiday season.  I wanted to reach out and wish you a healthy and prosperous new year to come. I find this to be a thoughtful time of year, to allow us some well-deserved time of rest, of family, and of celebration.

Its now when I often try to reflect on the year that past, what worked and work didn’t, and take time to appreciate the people that make my life whole, and those that are passing through.

So, first of all, let me thank you.  Thanks for being somebody that I have the pleasure to know, and to work with, and the pleasure to call my client, my colleague, my friend.  I appreciate all the many moments I have to share in the lives of those around me, and I hope that I have provided just a little more value, just a little more guidance, or insight that has allowed you to enjoy life, just a little bit more.

2019, has also been a year of loss.  2 dear clients passed away.  So, in keeping with the past few years, I have made a donation to Heart & Stroke, and Alzheimer’s Society on behalf these special people.

It’s always a pleasure working with my clients.  But at this time of year, I hope that we can all reflect on our privileges and have gratitude that we all have in life.  I realize how lucky I have been to have had the pleasure to do a job that I love, to have a wonderful family that support me (as I support them), and opportunities to contribute to so many lives.

So, what is just around the corner?

In 2020, we look forward to continuing to build the many options that we offer.  As always, we restrict the number of client families that we work with.  My commitment from the beginning is to ensure we can maintain a certain service level, and 1 way to do that is to ensure we work with a reasonable number of families.  What is changing?

*Technology.  This area has changed dramatically, as we continue to adopt new software to provide enhanced services.  We have more options coming, including online signature options, to make paperwork easier.  And I continue have people requesting online meetings.  We are happy to accommodate, but do like to see you face to face some of the time.

*Enhanced Security & Privacy Protection.  As you are aware this is an area of high focus in our industry.  By ensuring we are taking expected precautions, and continuing to adopt increased protection, we are doing our part.  Note, that we are now sharing more data through an enhanced security option, “Box” that allows us to share in a more confidential manner going forward.  If you haven’t adopted this yet, we look forward to helping you do so.

*Financial Planning and Priority Focus: By ensuring that I understand your priorities, and understand your money habits, both god and bad, it allows me to better guide you to ensure you stay on track for your “financial plan”.  If something has changed, please let us know.  If we give you a call, please call back.

*Enhancing the Retirement & Philanthropic Journey for our Clients.  What I have found in the past many years is that most of our clients give back, especially as we reach retirement.  By helping with that journey, by better understanding how your values drive your giving, this becomes a family mission, rather than a 1 time charitable gift.  I look forward to helping more of you make a difference in your communities.

*Product, Product, Product!  We are being bombarded by new products, more ETF’s (Exchange traded funds) and options every day.  Continuing to understand the options, to manage the market volatility and ensure you have the right investments for your risk level is about understanding both the client and the product.   Remember, it’s about meeting your goals with options that are clear, not just chasing the index or buying the hot new investment!

I am excited to welcome in 2020, with a renewed motivation to help you in all your financial endeavours.
